In the Texas Hill Country, local leaders are taking steps to address housing recovery nearly a year after devastating floods. These floods caused great loss of life and damaged countless homes. A press conference hosted by the Community Foundation is set to provide crucial updates on initiatives aimed at helping survivors find permanent housing as the recovery process continues. CBS News reports on the renewed focus for these communities.
The Word tells us in Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” This scripture brings hope to those grappling with the aftermath of this disaster.
Father, we come to You today with heavy hearts. We acknowledge the pain and loss that flood survivors are facing. The struggle to find a place to call home is real. We pray for Your comfort to surround those feeling lost and hopeless. Grant wisdom to our community leaders and strength to the volunteers working diligently to assist those in need. May they find effective ways to support recovery efforts. Heal the hearts of families who are struggling and restore the damaged areas, both physically and emotionally. Help this community to rise stronger from these trials and remind them that they are never alone.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
